Our History
Dog House Lodge was specifically designed to provide a peaceful and enjoyable vacation destination for the pampered pooches of central Florida. From A/C, heat, and DogTV to raised beds, food and water bowls, Dog House Lodge offers a safe & loving "home away from home".
Our "4-Paw" environment doesn't end with luxury accommodations. We also offer our guests canine massage, energy healing, indoor and outdoor play & exercise areas, and a Dog Party room for celebrating your pup's special life events! Situated on 5 securely fenced acres, we offer 4 unique play parks with pools, large sandbox, a tunnel and more.
Unlike a typical business setting that's only open from 8 am to 5 pm, the owners of Dog House Lodge live on property to monitor the safety & comfort of every guest. We offer flexible hours for check-in & check-out 365 days a year.
The owners of Dog House Lodge owned Catnip Trails pet rescue for 17 years and specialized in helping families find the resources they needed to keep pets at home and out of the shelter environment. They were integral in helping to save hundreds of dogs & cats, and even the two resident Lodge Donkeys: Dominick & Jasper.
Dog House Lodge was developed with our own pets in mind - to provide a safe, loving, and stimulating environment.

Meet the Team
We are a dynamic team of of 'dog butlers' who have had the blessed opportunity to follow our passion to work with your dogs every day. Each member of the team brings a unique perspective and essential skills to the family and together, we turn work into fun.
Lauri was originally a client - twice - and joined our team to spend quality time with each PAWsome guest. She's an avid gardener and ensures the Lodge is well-stocked with snacks!
Carol is our Lodge Manager, making sure everything behind the front door runs smoothly, stays clean, and that we end each day with all happy dogs. A long-term rescuer, Carol escapes the fur on her paddle-board, and when she's not at the Lodge, she enjoys time at home with her rescue pups & kitties.
Joan is the owner of Dog House Lodge, and spent 17 years in pet rescue before building the Lodge to offer the same great care to the pups of central Florida that her own pups get at home. She primarily works with clients and getting your dogs scheduled for their own vacation or Spa experience. And her pup Onyx helps with new pup introductions. Joan & her husband Alan share their home with 4 pups, 3 kitties, and 2 donkeys... Apples are appreciated!
Lauryn is currently in college and quickly realizing that her passion is working with animals, thanks to all our great guests who have made her feel so welcome. She has 2 dogs & kitties of her own and takes pride in hand-feeding our picky guests to ensure everyone has a full belly. Lauryn is one of our Salon staff and enjoys doting on your pups to send them home squeaky clean.
Paige is also in college and has been an avid volleyball player throughout her school years. She's studying for a degree in sports medicine, and getting lots of exercise at the Lodge with all our guests. She has a strong love for animals, and is learning all salon duties.
Kaylee loves all animals - no favoritism here! She has worked with many different exotics at a local sanctuary, and learned how to trim nails with tigers and foxes. As our Salon Manager she believes a clean dog is a happy dog. Kaylee and her dog, Mr. Cash lead our dog introductions and Training Team to help us stay current on proven training techniques so all dogs have a safe & consistent experience.
Alecia is a bee-keeper and dog lover extraordinaire with 5 rescue pups, and a pig of her own. Her calm energy helps our new guests settle into play groups quickly, and learn our routine with ease. Alecia and her family own a honey farm and can be found most Saturday's at the Lakeland Farmer's Market.
